Years inside the world’s biggest organisations gave me something no textbook can. I know exactly what it takes to lead, grow, and thrive from the inside.

I have worked with some of the biggest organisations in the world, including Coca-Cola, P&G, Nestlé and General Mills, as a senior leader and strategy partner.I’ve built billion-dollar brands, led million dollar product launches, created award-winning integrated campaigns that led to business growth and cultural conversations.

I have worked with industry leaders and celebrities and been under the focus lights in boardrooms of tens and conferences of hundreds. I have navigated difficult conversations with professionals from different geographies, age groups, life stages and cultural contexts.

Throughout my career, I have worked in large organisations, bringing together global and local teams, agencies and senior stakeholders. Along the way I’ve built and led multiple teams, worked closely with the C-suite and navigated the realities of growing from a high-performing individual contributor to a leader.
what my experience made me realise about ambition
There is nothing wrong with wanting more.
More money. More exposure. More recognition. More meaning. More impact. Being seen as ambitious is not something to apologise for. It is something to channel.
Being seen as ambitious in the era of the ‘burnout conscious’ and ‘slow life’ livers, and ‘uncertain times’ and ‘doomsday’ predictors may sound like a character flaw, but it is not.
You don’t need to pretend to constantly be grateful for the cards that you have been dealt. You can hate the cards and want better, simply because you deserve it.
Now that that is out of the way, the question to then answer is what does “more” actually mean for you?
Because wanting more money can be a different career decision from wanting more influence. Wanting a bigger title can be different from wanting more autonomy. And wanting to use more of your capabilities may have nothing to do with a promotion at all.
Ambition can be channelized in the right direction, when you understand what is underlying motivation driving it.
